RACHEL CARSON HARVEST DINNER in FALMOUTH
The fourth annual Rachel Carson Harvest Dinner will take place in Falmouth,
Massachusetts, on Saturday night, October 14th. The public is invited to
this autumn celebration.
The Rachel Carson Harvest Dinner takes place each year at the Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth. It's a celebration of community gardens,
organic landscaping, and sustainable living, on Cape Cod. The dinner
serves as a fundraiser for the community food pantries that serve the towns of
Bourne, Falmouth, and Sandwich.
This year's menu includes a variety of beans, ham, and cornbread, with
salad. Tickets are $12.00 for adults and $5.00 for students 5-18. No family
will be charged more than $25.00. All of the money raised will be donated to
community food pantries.
The Falmouth Fiddlers will provide live music. The dinner starts at 6:00 pm
and it will continue until "around 8:30 pm." The event happens at the
Unitarian Universalist meetinghouse, at 840 Sandwich Road, in East Falmouth.
The building is accessible for people with disabilities. For more
information, telephone (508) 457-0449.
The Rachel Carson Harvest Dinner is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist
Fellowship of Falmouth. Rachel Carson, one of the famous
environmentalists, was involved in summer studies in Woods Hole for several years. She is
identified with the Unitarian Universalists.
The Falmouth fellowship is active in human rights and environmental
protection work.
