The Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve currently has three
full-time research positions available:
Research Technician - assists the reserve staff in performing field and
lab work to support investigative and environmental monitoring projects;
support field activities of visiting researchers and educational groups;
data collection and entry into research and monitoring databases. Must
be able to operate and maintain small boat and equipment. Applicant
should have an undergrad degree or associate degree in Environmental
Science or related field or at least four years of equivalent
professional experience in the environmental field.
Research Intern - assists the reserve staff with carrying out a
quantitative analysis of the Reserve's long-term water quality,
biological, meteorological and shoreline change, monitor records as well
as held in continuing these monitoring efforts in the field. Applicant
should have completed or be in the final stages of an undergraduate
degree in Mathematics, Natural or Environmental Sciences or related
field and have good quantitative skills.
Stewardship Intern -assists in performing field and data entry work in
support of the Reserve's natural resource management projects; habitat
restoration; habitat mapping and biodiversity surveying. Applicant
should have an undergraduate degree in Natural Resources, Environmental
Science or related field.
