Due to a last minute staff withdrawal, the NEED Collaborative is  
seeking a Teacher/Naturalist for the 06/07 school year, starting  
September 10.  The job description follows.

TEACHER NATURALISTS
NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (NEED) COLLABORATIVE
TRURO, MA.

The NEED Collaborative, a small residential environmental education  
school located near the tip of Cape Cod, seeks a Teacher/Naturalist  
for the 06/07 school year.  This individual will teach field lessons  
to small groups of 5th grade students at various natural environments  
and historical sites on the Cape Cod National Seashore.  Our average  
teaching group size is about 7 students per Teacher/Naturalist.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Lessons taught include ocean and bay beach and  
dune ecology, salt marsh, pond, pizza making, group dynamics, and  
nightwalks.
Teacher/Naturalists also share in the care of our students, including  
bedtime duties, meal prep, serving and cleanup, and supervision  
during short bus trips.  Staff assists with the total operation of  
the program and the facility, a retired Coast Guard Station.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in environmental education, or related  
field.  Current CPR/First Aid certification.  Ability to work well in  
a team of five other staff members, and maintain sense of humor.   
Previous residential teaching experience preferred.  Musical talents  
welcome.

SALARY: $350 per week, plus room and board.  Benefits available.   
Great views, good food, and plenty of exercise.

DATES: Sept 10, 2006 - mid June, 2007.  Closed for brief winter  
breaks over holidays, and February school vacation.
