TEACHER/NATURALIST    NEED COLLABORATIVE    TRURO, MA.

The NEED Collaborative in Truro, Massachusetts is seeking a Teacher/ 
Naturalist for the 06/07 school year.
We are a small residential program, located in a retired Coast Guard  
station, and run by three school systems on Cape Cod.  Each fifth  
grade class from those districts comes to us during the school year,  
for either a 3 or 5 day program.  Our total group size is about 21  
students, who are divided into three teaching groups.  Lessons  
include beach and dune ecology, saltmarsh and pond studies,  
freshwater swamp succession, group dynamics, pizza making, nightwalk,  
and general Cape Cod natural and human history.
Staff is responsible for some meal prep and serving, bus monitoring  
on short trips, bedtime duties, and the overall operation of the  
program and building.
Great views, good food, generally likable kids, and plenty of exercise.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in earth science, biology, or related  
field.   Ability to live and  work closely with three other Teacher/ 
Naturalists and maintain sense of humor.  Previous teaching   
experience in a residential setting preferred.

Pay: $350 per week, plus room and board.  Benefits available.
