RELIGION AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Many religious groups - both conservative and liberal - are becoming
increasingly active in environmental protection work. Some of these groups are
represented on Cape Cod.

On Sunday, September 25, the Rev. David Johnson, who previously worked as a
marine geologist in Woods Hole, will speak about his involvement with both
science and religion. Rev. Johnson will speak at the Unitarian Universalist
meetingouse in Falmouth. The Sunday service will begin at 9:30 am. The
meetinghouse is located at 840 Sandwich Road in East Falmouth. All people, of all
faiths, are invited... TELEPHONE: (508) 457-0449.

Rev. Johnson is a visiting minister from Alabama. He'll talk, briefly,
about the continuing response to Hurricane Katrina. Community and church groups
have worked together.

On Monday afternoon, September 26, the local Unitarian Universalists will
visit the Greenpeace ship in Woods Hole... Church members are concerned about
global warming and its impact on the Arctic and other regions... If you
would like to join with this group for its tour of the Greenpeace ship, please
call their meetinghouse office... (See telephone number above.)
