Executive Director - The Taunton River Watershed Alliance (TRWA) seeks an
innovative, dynamic Executive Director with documented success in managing
nonprofit organizations and leading successful environmental protection,
preservation and restoration initiatives. Strong organizational
development, capacity building and volunteer management skills are required.
Flexible hours and less-than-full-time employment also considered. Some

a highly independent part-time (approx. 10-15 hours/wk) Volunteer
Coordinator to coordinate project-specific volunteer recruitment and

Staff Attorney - The Taunton River Watershed Alliance (TRWA) seeks an
attorney with experience in Massachusetts's zoning and land use law and
state laws as they relate to land and water conservation, and wetlands and
related natural resources.~ Experience with federal environmental laws a
plus.~ Attorney will be essentially a sole practitioner, reporting to a
steering committee of experienced environmental advocates who for the most
part are not attorneys.~ Must be willing to attend public hearings at
night if needed. ~Must be willing to travel to various locations in SE MA
and Boston as needed. ~Priorities will be set by advocates working to
preserve land and water resources in Southeastern Massachusetts, and
attorney will help provide input on strategies and priorities.~ Must be a
self-starter and able to work independently.~ Most of the job will consist
of evaluating various projects within the watershed (e.g. developments) to
determine what, if any steps should be taken to oppose said project, and
taking those steps with the assistance and input of local environmental
groups, involvement in state and local permits and permit hearings,
possible administrative appeals of permits (primarily before DEP), review
and support local and state legislative efforts aimed at smart growth and
water conservation, research and support to land conservation deals,
including conservation easements and restrictions.~ Should be familiar
with MEPA, Water Management Act, Wetlands Protection Act, related
regulations and various land protection options (CRs, APRs, zoning, etc.).
Involves opportunities to work with the leading local, state, and national
environmental organizations. Compensation is commensurate with
