Cape Friendly Landscaping Series 2005 

 

The Cape Friendly Landscaping Series begins on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 with
a workshop from 3:00 - 5:00 PM, entitled An Overview to Ecological
Landscaping & Organic Lawn Care. Lindsay Strode of Cape Organics will begin
with an overview of what ecological landscaping is, and then present the
steps to growing and caring for an organic lawn while promoting the Falmouth
Friendly Lawn program.  Participants will also learn about erosion control,
native plants, plant maintenance, products and produce. Keep your Cape
garden lasting longer and looking better over time, while protecting our
fragile environment and water supply.

 

Additional workshops to be featured each Wednesday from 3:00 - 5:00 PM in
April include: April 13: On the Waterfront with Michael Talbot, President
Michael Talbot & Associates, Inc.  April 20: Edible Landscaping - Growing
Food in Your Garden with Earle Barnhart and Hilde Maingay of Great Work,
Inc.  April 27: Butterfly Gardening & Enhancing Wildlife Habitat in Your
Yard with Alison Robb of Nature's Circle and C. Diane Boretos, Master
Naturalist, Call of the Wild.  

 

The series is co-sponsored by the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research
Reserve, The Falmouth Garden Club and Falmouth Associations Concerned about
Estuaries and Salt Ponds (F.A.C.E.S.).  Workshops are held at the Waquoit
Bay Reserve Visitor Center located on Route 28 (E. Falmouth) each Wednesday
in April from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.  There is no charge for the workshops and
you are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions. To register please
