JUDY PEDERSON OF MIT SEA GRANT SPEAKS ABOUT MARINE INVASIVES
at Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary on July 13

South Wellfleet, MA- Exotic animals & algae are found throughout our marine
environment. Some, like the green crab and codium have been long established
in our waters. While others, like the Asian shore crab, are newcomers.

On July 13th at 7:30 pm at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Judy
Pederson, Ph.D. will introduce us to the who’s who on the local “wanted”
list of marine invasives. Dr. Pederson is manager of the Center for Coastal
Resources at the MIT Sea Grant College Program, with interests in marine
ecology and the application of science to policy. The discussion will
include the impact these species have on the native population of marine
invertebrates, algae and fish.
