INVITATION TO NEW YEARS DAY EVENT

The New Years Day walk through Woods Hole and down to the ocean's edge has
become a Cape Cod tradition... Organizations like the Sierra Club have
developed this annual event as a way to bring people together in order to raise
environmental awareness on the Cape.

Everybody is invited! Please note the following details...

WHEN: Sunday, January 1st, starting at noon.

WHERE: The holiday walk will begin at the Woods Hole Community Hall,
which is located at 68 Water Street in Woods Hole... Expect an easy walk around
Eel Pond, ending at Waterfront Park on Water Street. We will make New Years
resolutions to protect coastal resources and we'll "toast the coast" with
non-alcoholic beverages... After the outdoors activities, we'll retreat to
the Community Hall for a potluck holiday party for our hikers.

WHAT HAPPENS: The Woods Hole walk is a holiday walk for people of all
ages... Children can make noise and shout, "Happy New Years!" to the village.
Bring noisemakers, rainbow flags, and carnival costumes... We supply the
drummers and other street entertainers... For the potluck party, bring leftover
fruitcakes, cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, rum balls and Christmas candy,
and anything else that remains from the December holidays...

INFORMATION: Several environmental, religious, and community groups work
together to make the New Years festival in Woods Hole possible... For more
information, telephone the Unitarian Universalist meetinghouse in Falmouth.
TELEPHONE: (508) 457-0449.
