[SEMCO] Teacher Workshop/Coastal Studies

Cape Cod Coastal Studies - Are you looking for a local connection to 
provide examples for Earth and Physical Science frameworks?  After 
attending this workshop, you will have lots of ideas for teaching about 
energy and motion, geologic processes, erosion, and the changing shape 
of Cape Cod's shores.  Dr. Jim O'Connell of WHOI Sea Grant will give an 
overview lecture, then we will go to the shore for activities and 
demonstrations.  Teachers will receive lesson plans and background 
resources.  Prepare to get sand in your shoes and get your students 
thinking about the beach in a whole new way!

 

This workshop, sponsored by WHSTEP, will be held on Monday, October 25 
from 3:30-5:30 PM at the Rinehart Coastal Research Center, Woods Hole 
Oceanographic Institution.
