[SEMCO] Rachel Carson Dinner (October 16th)

The second annual Rachel Carson Dinner will take place on Saturday, October 
16th, in Falmouth, on Cape Cod.  The dinner will begin at 5:30 pm and continue 
- with live entertainment - until "close to 8:30 pm."   Families, especially, 
are invited.

This event will take place at the Unitarian Universalist meetinghouse, at 840 
Sandwich Road, in East Falmouth.    The meetinghouse is close to the Jewish 
center.

The Rachel Carson Dinner is a harvest dinner that honors Rachel Carson and 
"earth friendly" gardening, agriculture, and landscaping on Cape Cod.   Organic 
and community gardeners will receive some special recognition....  Tickets are 
$10 at the door and family rates are available...  This is a community 
fundraiser...  All of the money raised is donated to the community food pantries in 
Mashpee, Falmouth, Bourne, and Sandwich.

Entertainment will be provided by folk singer Jim Scott and blues harmonica 
player Sam Hotchkiss...  The menu for the Rachel Carson Dinner includes ham and 
beans.  Vegetarian specialties will be available.    The meetinghouse is 
handicap accessible.
