March 16 - Cozy and Clean: Heat from the Sun


Using the sun to heat your water can be very cost-effective.   Learn
about solar hot water collectors as well as radiant floor heating and
pool heaters from someone who's installed dozens of systems in the New
England area. (Henry Vandermark, Solar Wave Energy)

The Renewable Energy Trailer will be in Falmouth this week .

 

March 23 -Electricity: Clean and Green Opportunities

Want to find out about a program to install solar photovoltaic panels on
your roof at a reduced cost? (Cape and Islands Self-Reliance) Interested
in saving on your electric bills simply by implementing some energy
efficiency practices? (Kevin Galligan, Cape Light Compact), Want to find
out about net metering, "The Grid" and other electric mysteries? (Bob
Bigelow, Cape Light Compact). How about a program where you can buy and
support the environmental benefits of renewable energy without actually
installing a wind turbine or solar panels on your home or business? Come
and find out your options for greening your electricity from a variety
of commitment levels. (Free compact flourescent bulbs will be given out
while they last.) The Renewable Energy Trailer will be in Orleans this
week .

 

March 30: Cape Cod Case Study: Lessons Learned for Renovation and New
Construction

This past year, an East Falmouth resident completed a "green renovation"
on her home which included solar hot water panels for heating water and
her home, insulation beyond code and the use of recycled materials.
Join the owner, 

architect, contractor and renewable energy consultant as they relate
their experiences trying to match ideals with reality. (Joan Muller, Jim
Shipsky, Bruce Torrey, Tom Wineman).
