Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is hosting a lecture series
in the month of April featuring experts in the field of BIRD CONSERVATION
AND RESEARCH to share what they have learned about bird populations, their
current status, threats to their populations, and conservation efforts. The
schedule is as follows:
Thursday, April 1, 7 p.m.
General Trends in Bird Populations in Massachusetts with Wayne Petersen,
Swarovski Optiks Birding Community Leader and co-author of Birds of
Massachusetts
Thursday, April 8, 7 p.m.
The Status of Shorebird Species with Brian Harrington, Manomet Center for
Conservation Sciences
Thursday, April 15, 7 p.m.
25 years Studying Songbird Migration with Trevor Lloyd-Evans, Manomet Center
for Conservation Sciences
Thursday, April 22, 7 p.m.
Studying Freshwater Marsh Species with Bob Cooke, Cape Cod National Seashore
Thursday, April 29, 7 p.m.
Nesting Coastal Waterbirds & Grassland Birds with Andrea Jones, Mass Audubon
s Center for Bird Conservation
These talks will be held at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Santuary in South
Wellfleet. Cost per lecture is $3 for Mass Audubon members and $5 for
non-members. Registration is required. For more information or to register
