Lloyd Center Birthday Party Celebrates 25 Years

    SOUTH DARTMOUTH, MA  ­  The Lloyd Center for Environmental Studies
invites the public to enjoy a free, family-oriented celebration of the
Center's 25th anniversary. The Lloyd Center Birthday Party will be held on
Sunday, October 5, 2003, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm, at the Lloyd Center on
430 Potomska Road, in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
    Bring the whole family to celebrate the Lloyd Center's 25th birthday!
Live music will be provided by the Toe Jam Puppet Band. The band will give
two performances, from 12:30 pm to 1:15 pm, and from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm.
Birthday cake and ice cream will be served after each performance. The Lloyd
Center will also provide hamburgers, hot dogs, and soda.
    Lloyd Center Birthday Party events will also include a scavenger hunt
for kids, and guided nature walks for all. Local environmental
organizations, including Buttonwood Park Zoo, the Schooner Ernestina, the
Coalition for Buzzards Bay, and the Dartmouth YMCA will be on hand to offer
activities and crafts, and talk about how they help connect people to
nature. Cat Radcliffe, the center's ACA-certified paddling instructor, will
offer canoeing instruction and a paddling trip on the Slocums River.
    Digital photos will be taken of the first 75 guests, who will receive
high-quality prints made during the event. Party favors will be available to
all participants as they leave.
    In the event of rain, the Lloyd Center Birthday Party will be held at
the Dartmouth YMCA, 276 Gulf Road, South Dartmouth, MA.

and research, and to inspire and empower citizens to make wise environmental
