The following summer employment opportunities are available at Mass
Audubon's Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary on Martha's Vineyard:

Natural History Day Camp Instructors, (Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, Martha
’s Vineyard) Instructors needed to work with youth ages four to eighth
grade. Design and team-teach age-appropriate natural history activities for
campers using a hands-on experiential approach. Lead stories, crafts, nature
games and activities such as seashore exploration, insect studies,
snorkeling, canoeing, ponding and community service. Must be at least 18
years old, have experience working with children in a camp, school, or
outdoor setting, working towards or completed a college degree in a related
field, and valid First Aid/CPR certificate. Some positions require Lifeguard
Training. Positions available at 28 and 40 hours/week. $8.50-$10/hour based

Camp Program Director, (Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, Martha’s Vineyard)
Responsible for daily operation of summer natural history day camp program
for children in grades K-8. Ensure the quality of experiential curriculum
based on exploration of the sanctuary’s seashore, freshwater pond, field and
forest habitats; provide a non-competitive, safe, compassionate, and fun
learning environment for all campers and staff, assist with staff training;
supervise 5 camp instructors; facilitate parent communication; co-ordinate
Naturalists-in-Training; teach as needed. Must be at least 21 years old (24+
preferred, in order to drive rental van); undergraduate or graduate degree
in environmental studies, environmental science, elementary education or
related field; have previous camp or environmental education experience,
preferably with administrative or supervisory responsibility; have or be
willing to get: Lifeguard Training (including First Aid and CPR for the
Professional Rescuer), Red Cross “When Help is Delayed” or Wilderness First
Aid; have strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word
and Excel; have strong sense of own teaching style; be able to attend Mass
Audubon’s Field School training in natural history from June 9th-11; have a
truly caring personality with enthusiasm for children and the natural world
and have a genuine interest in camp administration/supervision. Must be
available June 9-August 15, 40 hours/week. $10-$11/hour based on experience.
