[SEMCO] Topics in Oceanography Workshop

Space is still available in the “Topics in Oceanography” Workshop for
Educators. It will be held at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
on Friday, November 15, 2002, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Topics include
Climate and Coccoliths: Linking Tiny Cells to Global Climate, presented
by Dorinda (Rindy) Ostermann, a Research Specialist with the Woods Hole
Oceanographic Institution (WHOI)’s Geology and Geophysics Department.
High-Resolution Imaging with Underwater Vehicles, presented by Chris
Roman, a graduate student working in the Deep Submergence Lab in WHOI’s
Applied Ocean Physics and Engineering Department.
Workshop attendees will participate in both sessions and interact with
research scientists involved in current technology and research.
Attendees will also receive binders containing resources, background
materials, and classroom activities, some of which will be conducted at
the workshop. Lunch will be provided, and PDPs will be given.
