The Boston Foundation has recently announced its
2002 guidelines for the New England Natural Areas
and Wildlife Grants Program of the Fund for the
Environment. Here are some details about the
program:

"Funds are available for projects to plant and
upkeep flora to protect and encourage wild bird
life. Applicants may request larger grants (up to
$15,000) for this purpose this year. Average grant
size last year was approx. $3,000, and grants were
awarded to 24 organizations.


"The Grants Program priorities include:
land preservation and stewardship
habitat protection
environmental education projects

Geographical focus:  New England region (CT, ME, MA,
NH, RI, VT)

Two copies of each proposal are due January 31,
2002, with review of proposals taking place in the
Spring, decisions expected by early May."
