THE COOPERATIVE INSTITUTE FOR COASTAL AND
ESTUARINE ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY
(CICEET)

Announcement of FY 2003 Funding Opportunities

November 27, 2003

The NOAA/UNH Cooperative Institute for Coastal and
Estuarine Environmental Technology (CICEET), located
at the University of New Hampshire, is pleased to
announce three funding opportunities for FY 2003. This
year, CICEET is inviting 1) preliminary proposals for the
annual Environmental Technology Program; 2)
proposals to conduct short-duration, low-cost, "proof of
concept" development projects, and 3) proposals for
Technology Transfer projects. The requests for
proposals and related information are posted on the
CICEET website http://ciceet.unh.edu under "Funding
Opportunities".

The deadlines for receipt of proposals are January 7th
for the Environmental Technology Program preliminary
proposals, January 13th for Development Project
proposals, and January 22nd for Technology Transfer
proposals.

Details on focus areas, specific requirements and
submission guidelines for each solicitation are posted
online. While we invite inquiries about all three
solicitations, we strongly encourage potential
applicants for the Technology Transfer RFP to contact
the program directors prior to submitting proposals.

CICEET was established in 1997 as a national center
for the development and application of innovative
environmental technologies for monitoring,
management, and prevention of contamination in
estuaries and coastal waters. It is a unique
partnership between the University of New Hampshire
(UNH) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA), and promotes collaboration
among academia, government, and the private sector.
CICEET is governed by a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) between NOAA and UNH and is
jointly managed by UNH and NOAA Co-Directors.
CICEET uses the capabilities of UNH, the private
sector, academic and public research institutions
throughout the U.S. as well as the 24 reserves in the
National Estuarine Research Reserve System to
develop and apply new environmental technologies
and techniques.
