TOPICS IN OCEANOGRAPHY:  A Workshop for Middle and
High School Teachers

Friday, April 26, 2002
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Topics (participants will choose 2):
- A New Look at an Old Oil Spill
- Technology for Marine Exploration
- Detecting Environmental Contaminants in the Marine
Food Chain
- The Interaction of Bacteria and Seafloor Minerals

(All participants will receive resource materials
and classroom demonstration info. for all 4 topics.)

Registration:
Fee: $40 (checks payable to WHOI; mail to WHOI
Information Office, c/o Stephanie Murphy, MS #16,
Woods Hole, MA 02543). Information packet will be
mailed once registration is confirmed. Sorry, no
purchase orders. Workshop is limited to 28
participants. PDPs will be awarded. Lunch is
included.

Deadline: April 10th

NOTE:  This workshop is being held in conjunction
with the Massachusetts Marine Educators annual
conference on Saturday, April 27, at the Woods Hole
Oceanographic Institution (8:30 - 5:00). For more
