'Residential Buildings in Coastal Areas: The New FEMA Coastal
Construction Manual': a 2-day workshop for engineers, architects and
local officials, to be held November 14 & 15, 2001 at the Woods Hole
Oceanographic Institution, Woods Hole, MA.
Sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, MA Department of
Environmental Managment, WHOI Sea Grant, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension,
and the N.E. Floodplain and Sormwater Management Association (NEFSMA).
This 2-day workshop is an intensive, hand-on learning experience.
Participants should possess a basic knowledge of building sciences. The
course has been designed for professionals who are involved with coastal
construction and will deal with the principles and practice of siting,
designing, and constructing residential buildings in coastal areas.
Bring a calculator and be prepared to use it!
Cost: $50 for local officials and NEFSMA members; all others $75.
