[SEMCO] RFP: Long Island Sound Lobster Research

Greetings!

The CT Department of Environmental Protection and the New York and
Connecticut Sea Grant programs have produced a joint RFP to request
pre-proposals for research to investigate lobster mortality and shell
disease in Long Island Sound.  Pre-proposals are due in the Connecticut
Sea Grant office by 5:00 p.m. on October 27, 2000.

CT DEP is making available 1 million dollars through the Long Island
Sound Research Fund and Congress has authorized funds for lobster
research.  The proposed competitive federal research budget is 2.5
million dollars.

Connecticut based institutions are eligible for the LIS Research Funds
and the federal funds.  Non-Connecticut institutions are only eligible
for federal funds unless they partner with a Connecticut institution.
