Job Description
=B7 Assist the Research Coordinator with Reserve's Ecological Monitoring
Programs,
Particularly with regard to the use of the reserves water quality data
loggers and meteorological station.
=B7 Assist the Research Coordinator with research activities that may includ=
e
ecological field sampling techniques and the operation and maintenance of a
19 foot motor boat and related research equipment.
=B7 Use instruments in the field and laboratory (e.g. spectrophotometer) to
measure water quality characteristics, such as salinity, dissolved oxygen,
chlorophyll concentration, turbidity and light attenuation.
=B7 This position requires strenuous physical activity including the ability
to walk several miles over sandy beaches and dunes and lift equipment up to
fifty pounds.

Selected Qualifications
=B7 Applicant must have at least two years of full-time or equivalent
part-time experience. A minimum of BS/BA in natural science or equivalent:
experience with ecological field sampling techniques and basic inorganic
laboratory techniques.=20
=B7 Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.  Computer
skills (DOS/Windows-based spreadsheet, word, familiarity with data export
and import practices over the Internet) are a must. =20
=B7 A strong environmental ethic and sense of humor is necessary.
