Hi, Nadia:
Forget the example given in the Matlab help. theta, r and so on are
variables necessary to built a vector time serie, whose components are
finally u and v.
As you described your case, you have the module vector (u), its
angle with respect to the east and the time when data were recorded. You
need again the components, say u_x and u_y, which are computed as:
u_x=u*cos(angle in radians)
u_y=u*sin(angle in radians)
And finally, you "feather" them:
feather(u_x,u_y)
