Dear sea-mat members,

this is my first mail to the list, so first of
all I have to introduce muself. My name is Dimitris
Tsoulis and I work in geodesy and gravity field
modelling in particular. I use Matlab, as a standard
tool not only for graphs but for numerical
computations
as well.

My question is:

What TeX-alike structures are permissible in Matlab?
For example, I want to write in the xlabel of a figure
'\overline{P}_{nm}', but it doesn't work. However,
'P_{nm}' works out fine, which leaves me with the
question.

Thanks in advance for your help.

best regards

Dimitris
