Hi all,
A bunch of us met in San Diego during OSM and determined that due to NSF deadlines and OSM preparations, not much writing has been done yet. Instead of meeting via telecon tomorrow to continue that discussion, how about we dedicate that hour to WRITING! Let's try to teleconference the week of March 9 (before our first draft deadline of 3/16). Feel free to coordinate with your section coauthors via email/phone in the meantime. I'm going to send reminder to workshop participants to reach out to lead authors if they wish to contribute.
Please update doodle poll here: https://doodle.com/poll/7i8ydyrkfaakunp7
Cheers,
Heather

Thanks for the quick action on the poll, everyone! Please mark your calendars for Wednesday Feb. 26 at 3 pm (eastern) for a quick progress update on writing - do remember that we are targeting mid-March for a complete first draft. Hope to see many of you in San Diego!
Cheers
Heather

Hi Bill and other OAIC members,
Regarding OCB workshop products - I like this to be flexible and most importantly, compatible with the goals of the workshop. A workshop product could take the form of a traditional workshop report, a peer-reviewed manuscript, a white paper or science plan, really any format that is most useful to you and the broader community in accomplishing your goals. In this case, the document you are generating will provide a scientific framework around which to coalesce the US air-sea research community, so THAT is the outcome in which we should invest our energy. I see no need to spend our limited time on an additional separate (and redundant!) workshop report. We already published a short summary of the workshop for the OCB and SOLAS eNewsletters. The science plan (which we will assign a DOI) will be much more impactful.
1. The updated report outline is here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MYEwcyaLwtXKMr2xjF_EaMY5fGbqowoQxcSkYm0j9dI/edit?usp=sharing>. I've tried to link the sections to the corresponding small group discussion notes. You all have editing privileges so feel free to build on/correct that effort.
2. I've moved the notes from today's OAIC call into a separate document in the OAIC drive, accessiblehere<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ig11O_MRkxC6p8Lme9QBtsRCBGpXKNaoe0GpLcqEBUE/edit?usp=sharing>. I didn't think it was appropriate to have them in the outline for all to see, but was convenient to only have to look at one doc during today's call.
3. The notes include a link to a doodle poll for our post-OSM Feb. check-in<https://doodle.com/poll/7i8ydyrkfaakunp7>. Please fill out soon so we can put it on calendar before we scatter for OSM.
Again, a reminder - we have TWO Google Drive spaces, one for workshop and one for OAIC (you have editing access to both):
Air-Sea Workshop Google Drive with all workshop docs:

OAIC members-only Google Drive Space:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JU4IPK9oQQ5HcHNmIsOjfnLk2rg7QcpN?usp=sharing
Cheers,
Heather

thanks Heather.
One thing I did not get to ask is about the Workshop Report for OCB?
Don’t we have to do that as condition for the funding?
