Greetings and happy Friday, I have posted a new opportunity in the lab and am looking for someone with some technical talent to help us out. If you know of anyone that might be interested please do send along.

A PhD research assistantship is available within the Marine Ecology and Acoustics Lab at Florida International University. We are seeking a student to participate in an interdisciplinary project examining the environmental and oceanographic forcing on the distribution and behavior of mesopelagic micronekton through the combined use of acoustics, optics and eDNA from shipborne and autonomous platforms.

The ideal candidate would have a masters degree and demonstrated experience in related fields of ecology, oceanography, or acoustics, as well as strengths in data processing and analysis, experience with sampling technologies, and comfortable being at sea. Experience with overseeing or contributing to acoustic or optical data processing and analysis are particularly desired.
