Hi all,

Climate Change and Air Quality Research for the department of Earth System Sciences' KCCAMS facility (Irvine, CA) seeks a Specialist to set up and Supervise their new MICADAS (MiniCArbonDAtingSystem). Those applying should be interested in longer-term employment to support the operation of the MICADAS and its periphery. Primary responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of the MICADAS and its periphery, data analysis, sample processing, taking an active role in laboratory safety, and communicating with and training of facility users, including students and researchers. The successful candidate is expected to devote approximately 80% of their time to the operation of the MICADAS and associated laboratory, and the remainder to research with a focus on method development.

Candidates are expected to have a STEM college degree and background in accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) physics or chemistry with a proven disposition toward experimental techniques and applications. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree, Ms. or PhD degree in engineering, physics, radiochemistry or similar AMS-related field.
