I'm exciting to announce an opening in the Office of Research and Advisory Services at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science!
The Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) is among the largest marine research and education centers in the United States. Located along the glistening beaches of Gloucester, Virginia, VIMS provides research, education, and advisory services to government, citizens, students, and industry in coastal oceans and estuary science. VIMS is transforming data into policies, students into leaders, and theories into tangible change for solutions to global problems and to restore marine life. The Office of Research and Advisory Services is the central administrative office charged with coordinating VIMS' state-mandated research and outreach activities. The Institute serves as Virginia's center of expertise in the marine environment, bringing together governmental, economic, regulatory, and scientific communities.
In addition to the core competencies and experience, the ideal candidate for the Environmental Review & Advisory Specialist Coordinator role will possess effective interpersonal, and communication and follow-through skills, with the demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
The Environmental Review & Advisory Specialist supports the VIMS mandated advisory mission and operates collaboratively and independently with full authority of the Office of Research and Advisory Services<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vims.edu%2Fabout%2Fleadership_admin%2Foras%2Findex.php&data=05%7C01%7Cjpjobs%40whoi.edu%7C2044efd203644a62f09b08db86da57f0%7Cd44c5cc6d18c46cc8abd4fdf5b6e5944%7C0%7C0%7C638252044596037202%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=IRDrbhhu5AGQ%2BwX0dfO2LAC7onCkKEMBvYYpIZbxl78%3D&reserved=0> (ORAS).
