The College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS) at Oregon State University (OSU) invites applications for a 0.75 FTE 12-month academic faculty position. (At OSU, a 0.75 FTE 12-month position comes with all the benefits of a 1.0 FTE 9-month position, including year-round income and paid vacation time). Applications will be reviewed starting March 15, 2023 until the position is filled.
We seek a colleague who will serve primarily as an Instructor (90%) in the Oceanography program, and also as a Program Coordinator (10%) for the CEOAS Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Site Program. As an instructor, the successful candidate will develop and deliver on-campus and Ecampus courses in Oceanography as consistent with their specific expertise and programmatic needs. Courses may include: biological, physical, chemical, and/or geological oceanography; biogeochemical cycles; coastal ocean process; and human impacts and interactions. As a Program Coordinator, the successful candidate will assist with providing REU program information, reviewing student applications, matching faculty mentors with student interns, and arranging program logistics, activities, and orientations. Additionally, the position provides opportunities to engage with students through studentresearch projects and internships, and serve on student committees.

OSU maintains an institution-wide commitment to diversity, multiculturalism, and community, and seeks to recruit and retain a diverse workforce and student body that includes members of historically underrepresented groups. We strive to build and sustain a welcoming and supportive campus environment and seek applicants that can support the academic excellence of the Oceanography program, CEOAS, and OSU.
