Dear Ingrid - Can you please share the following ad with your colleagues with expertise in ICP-MS that may have a postdoc candidate available to work with us? Thank you!

An open postdoctoral position in the area of Arctic ocean-sea ice-atmosphere interactions is available in the Pratt Lab in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Michigan (http://prattlab.chem.lsa.umich.edu/<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fprattlab.chem.lsa.umich.edu%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cjpjobs%40whoi.edu%7C9feb8755dc234ce0641708da9d8809c6%7Cd44c5cc6d18c46cc8abd4fdf5b6e5944%7C0%7C0%7C637995504853562365%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=ubgOqP4ZzJZbXDne4uTHnbE7tzWJZtebic2hR9iUxlg%3D&reserved=0>). The project focuses on the chemical analysis and interpretation of atmospheric particle, cloud, and snow samples, collected during the 2022 CHACHA (CHemistry in the Arctic: Clouds, Halogens, and Aerosols) airborne field campaign based out of Utqiaġvik, Alaska. The candidate should have experience using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and preferably chromatography as well. The project includes analytical method development and collaboration with other research groups and institutions. There will be opportunities for mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a PhD (by appointment start date) in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Atmospheric Science, or a related science or engineering field. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are necessary.

The initial appointment is for one year, with renewal based on funding and performance.

Please email your CV, cover letter (describing your research experience, interests, career goals, and fit for the position), representative publications, and contact information for 3 references to Prof. Kerri Pratt, email: prattka at umich.edu<mailto:prattka at umich.edu>. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
