This position works closely with bioinformatics staff to assist with data transfers, software installs on cloud servers, optimization of bioinformatics pipelines, and database queries in a GCP environment.

Salary offered commensurate with experience

Responsibilities

  *   Ensure proper software is installed, add new users and/or changing user permissions, data transfer and storage, optimizing bioinformatics pipelines in cloud environment.
  *   Maintain a SQL database in the cloud, coordinating with proteomics and bioinformatics staff to extract requested data from SQL database and providing reports of metrics.
  *   Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  *   Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or related field plus two (2) years of SQL and cloud computing experience required.
  *   At least one (1) year of experience with at least one of the following: python, R (R project for statistical computing), and/or Jupyter Notebook.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  *   Ability to design, maintain, and extract data from SQL database.
  *   Knowledge of basic biology.
  *   Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  *   Experience in statistical analysis, omics databases, developing bioinformatics pipelines, design of experiments.
  *   Post-Doctoral or equivalent experience preferred.
