Hello all -

The University of Portland in Portland, Oregon is hiring a tenure-track assistant professor in fluid Earth processes. Specialties might include, but are not limited to, oceanography, atmospheric science, or hydrology. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong interest in teaching and research at the undergraduate level. To support our department's efforts to diversify our curriculum and faculty, the successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated lived experience, knowledge, skills, and/or success in diversity, equity & inclusion work within or transferable to higher education.

The candidate will teach existing upper-level undergraduate classes (including laboratories) in climatology, oceanography, and/or new courses in their disciplinary specialty. There is also the opportunity to develop interdisciplinary offerings, including collaboration with a new environmental policy faculty member. Course load is generally 6 courses per year, with labs counting as individual courses.
