Assistant Professor of Biology – Coastal Biology
The Department of Biology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland invites
applications for a tenure-track *assistant professor in coastal biology*
position beginning August 2021. Teaching responsibilities include
participating in biology core courses as needed (Contemporary
Biosciences, Principles of Biology I, Principles of Biology II,
Genetics, Ecology and Evolution) and upper division electives in their
specialty. We are particularly excited about, but not limited to,
candidates that can contribute to a new program in marine science.
Ph.D. required; postdoctoral training and/or teaching experience
preferred. An interest in attracting and retaining students from
underrepresented groups is essential. Because both teaching and research
are highly valued, we seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in
teaching as well as an active research program that has the potential to
involve undergraduates. Employment will be contingent upon successful
completion of a criminal background check.
