The Acoustics Division of the Naval Research Laboratory is seeking an
experimental physicist for
work in underwater electric and magnetic eld sensing. The research
involves sensor development,
electronics development, laboratory and eld experiments, data analysis
and the development of
novel signal processing techniques. To be successful, the candidate
should be exceptionally resource-
ful, with a broad background in physics research, and must have
significant experience with electron-
ics, data analysis and signal processing. He or she must possess
superior writing and speaking skills,
and must be comfortable functioning both independently and within a
group. It is expected that the
candidate will adapt and learn as required in order to carry the
research forward. Although this po-
sition is targeted toward underwater electromagnetics, opportunities may
exist for research in acous-
tics and for collaboration across divisions in other disciplines.
Interested candidates must be either
US Citizens or Permanent Residents, and should send, via e-mail, a
letter of interest, detailed CV,
list of publications, and reference contact information to
david.goldstein at nrl.navy.mil. Informa-
tion on NRL's postdoctoral programs is available at
http://hroce.nrl.navy.mil/jobs/postdoc.htm.
NRL is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
