Hello,
I am writing to ask for your help in identifying a diverse pool of candidates for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Geology at Washington and Lee University. W&L is a highly selective, independent, co-educational, liberal arts college of approximately 1850 undergraduate students in Lexington, VA, three hours southwest of Washington, DC. Our institution is committed to increasing the diversity of our students, faculty, and staff.
Our department is an excellent place for academics with strong interests in both teaching and research. We are fortunate to work with strong students and we take advantage of the diverse local geology in our courses. We also have good analytical facilities (including an SEM, Ion chromatograph, ICP-MS for stable isotopes) and previous visiting professors have been successful with moving their research along.
A link to the advertisement is below. We would appreciate if you could post it on your Graduate Student/Postdoc Bulletin Board or distribute it through email. Thank you.
Gratefully yours,
Jeffrey Rahl
Professor and Department Head, Geology
