The Aquaculture and Shellfish Specialist (Aquatic Biologist I) assists 
the project leader in conducting investigations to improve the practice 
of marine aquaculture in the Commonwealth, and to support other 
activities for the successful conduct of aquaculture involving shellfish 
and non-shellfish species.  The Specialist also contributes to 
biological studies of cultured and wild-caught marine organisms and 
their naturally co-occurring pathogens (e.g. Vibrio) that affect public 
health.
