collaborative research that would inform the management and policy
of freshwater and/or marine ecosystems, with a focus on invasive
species and their interactions with other drivers of global change.

3. Education Coordinator

* Description: This is a professional position, coordinating the
education and outreach activities of the Grand Bay National
Estuarine Research Reserve. Major activities include coordinating
the education and outreach activities including our adult community

development workshop programs. This position forms partnerships with
local schools, conducts needs assessments and then provides
programming as needed by our community of schools. These programs
are directly related to the research and stewardship activities at

Specialist. The work will require proposal and project development
and planning; supervision of staff, volunteers and contractors;
integration of education and outreach activities research,
monitoring and stewardship activities at the GBNERR; and, work with
local schools and community groups to further the effectiveness and

* Description: Develops and implements the research and monitoring
programs within the Reserve in accordance with state and federal
policies and guidelines for the Department of Environmental

efforts towards resource protection by addressing resource threats
and management issues. Develops and maintains partnerships with

* Description: The Gulf Ecology Division Director serves as key
advisor to the Laboratory Director of the National Health and
Environmental Effects Research Laboratory (NHEERL) and the Associate
Director for Ecology. The incumbent is fully responsible for the
scientific, programmatic, and organizational leadership of the
Division. In this role, plans, develops, organizes, directs and
implements a highly technical and complex science research program
that has nationwide impact and a staff of approximately 56 employees
located in Gulf Breeze, FL. Within the administrative framework
described above, assesses needs, defines goals, develops program
plans, establishes organizational structure of the Division,
delegates authority and responsibility, establishes overall Division
operating policies, priorities and procedures, develops long- and
short-range plans, allocates dollar and manpower resources within
budgetary limitations, establishes optimum resource balance,
directs, coordinates and reviews all Division conducted or directed
activities, reviews and evaluates progress and performance of these
activities and takes independent corrective actions as necessary.
Incumbent selects, assigns, and provides leadership, direction and
guidance to a multi-disciplinary staff to achieve assigned program
objectives.
