* Description:The Marine Program Senior Technical Advisor will be
responsible for the leadership and management of the Marine Program
of WCS Gabon. S/he will ensure integration of WCS Gabon's Marine

Program Senior Technical Advisor will be involved in a broad
portfolio of activities but with particular focus on planning and
implementing marine conservation strategy in Gabon. The Senior

visits to the country's coastal areas. The position will report to
the WCS-Gabon Country Director and will work closely with Gabonese
government bodies, WCS's Africa Program, and WCS's Global Marine

the Gabon Bleu program of the Gabonese government to ensure good
communication and integration of activities and ensure that WCS
Marine program objectives are fully aligned with the government
strategy.

* Organization: Carnegie Science Global Ecology

* Description: Carnegie Science Global Ecology has an immediate
opening for a full-time postdoctoral researcher. The researcher will
work on a project evaluating the potential for negative emissions
through biomass energy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS).
Considerations will include availability of land and water,
trade-offs with food security and ecosystem protection, interactions
with other mitigation technologies, and implications for near-term
emission reductions. The project is analyzing factors that make
integrated assessment models "BECCS friendly" and future trends in
agricultural yields regulating BECCS feasibility. The project will
culminate with a community-based assessment informing policy arenas.
The person who fills this position can be an expert in any topic
related to the work. We are especially looking for an individual
with strong skills in integrated assessment models and agricultural
assessment. The supervisors for the position will be Chris Field and
Katharine Mach.
Minimum educational qualification is a PhD in a relevant field. The

exciting interdisciplinary Research Scientist position within the
department of Applied Sciences and Mathematics. Applications from

statistics. The incumbent will work with the PI to develop and use
quantitative approaches (statistical and agent-based modeling
techniques) towards representing fish population dynamics, behavior
and decision making of fishers, and the distribution of coral reef
fish populations relative to sub-tropical and tropical benthic
habitat characteristics and types (i.e. artificial and natural coral
reefs, sea grass beds, etc.). The applicant's specific role in the
project will depend on their experience, training, and background.
Analyses will be used to support the expansion and further
development of an existing agent-based model representing fish
population dynamics, habitat, fishing behavior for reef fish in the
Gulf of Mexico. The model will be used for several purposes,
including understanding the effects of the historic 2010 oil spill
on fishing communities, essential fish habitat, and fish population
dynamics in the Gulf of Mexico. The incumbent will also have the
opportunity to develop their own parallel research track, ideally
but not necessarily related to one of the research themes
described. The position will afford the successful applicant with
opportunities to publish in high profile peer review journals, give
presentations at national and international conferences, collaborate
with Federal fisheries managers and scientists, work with fishers
and other industry representatives, contribute to developing grant
