3. Communications Internship - Spring 2015
* Organization: National Marine Sanctuary Foundation
* Location: Location: Silver Spring, MD
* Description: The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation was created to
support and strengthen the national system of marine sanctuaries.
NMSF works closely with the NOAA Office of National Marine
Sanctuaries to connect the American public to the ocean and Great
Lakes through these special places. NMSF is seeking a communications
intern to work a minimum of 24 hours per week during Spring 2015.
The intern's primary responsibility will be to assist the NMSF
Communications Coordinator with ongoing projects designed to
increase public engagement with national marine sanctuaries.The
major responsibilities of the intern will include 1) Monitoring and
developing content for NMSF's two active social media accounts
(Facebook and Twitter), and finding new ways to engage and expand
our audience and 2) Standing up a new Pinterest account for NMSF,
and developing a plan to populate the account with content to grow
and engage our audience. Based on skills and interest, the intern
may be able to take on special projects. Examples include:
1) Assisting with preparations for NMSF's signature program, Capitol
Hill Ocean Week (CHOW) and 2) Assisting in developing content for
NMSF's e-newsletter and website.

* Organization: Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region
* Location: Great Falls, VA
* Description: Develop a comprehensive, overnight meaningful watershed
educational experience (MWEE) program that connects students to
their local watershed and the Chesapeake Bay. Provide three day/two
night overnight experiences (MWEEs), to include in-classroom
preparatory lessons, field experiences, and post-trip reflection
activities, for 1500 fifth grade students from District of Columbia
schools. Engage students in outdoor educational programming through
nature hikes, leadership and teambuilding activities, and adventure
courses (climbing wall, high/low ropes courses).

9. Healthy Ocean Hill Day Coordinator
