ocean conservation or environmental law to join its international
headquarters in Washington, D.C. The legal team brings strategic
federal litigation to advance marine conservation goals (mainly
under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act,
the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act,
and the Marine Mammal Protection Act) and supports Oceana's policy
and legislative initiatives. The staff attorney will work as an
integral part of Oceana's campaign team to devise and implement

campaign objectives and devise litigation strategies and arguments.

* Description: Our organization is looking for a qualified and
motivated field technician to assist with our Marine Programs. The
role of the Marine Programs Field Technician is to contribute to the

Marine Programs Field Technician reports to the Marine Programs
Managers.
This position will directly support current marine projects
including the Palos Verdes Kelp Forest Restoration Project, Kelp
Forest Hydrodynamics Study, Sea Urchin Gonadosomatic Index Study,
Green Abalone Restoration Pilot Project, and Aerial Monitoring of
Ocean Vessels in Southern California. The Marine Programs Field
Technician is expected to contribute to underwater research,
monitoring and ecological restoration as well as office and
laboratory based logistics and analysis for all Marine Programs. The
Marine Programs Field Technician is required to work safely and
proactively to ensure the safety of others in a number of
environments including working waterfronts, laboratories, in the
open ocean, in subtidal and intertidal habitats, in aircraft and on
airfield surfaces. The nature of these environments are dynamic and
subject to rapid and potentially hazardous changes in condition.
Significant travel and lifting of heavy objects up to 50 pounds is
expected.

of the societal benefits of ocean observations; to coordinate the
