> Dear MIT/WHOI Joint Program,
>
> My name is Steve Amundson and I’m currently a Talent Acquisition Specialist for the U.S. Support Program to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is based in Vienna, Austria. Our office, located at Argonne National Laboratory, works to encourage U.S citizens to consider employment opportunities at the IAEA as well as recruit for specific positions that are funded by the Department of State.
>
> I have four specific positions, called Junior Professional Officers, in the IAEA’s Environment Laboratories in Monaco that I will be advertising very soon and I would like to ask if you would be willing to receive and further distribute those advertisements to young professionals/students within the Joint Program or to others in your network. The creation of these positions are directly related to the Our Ocean Conference lead by Secretary of State John Kerry and are for two year durations in Monaco working on the following activities:
>
> 1. Carbon sequestration by the ocean and the possible effect of ocean acidification on it
> 2. Impacts of harmful algal blooms on the environment and seafood safety
> 3. Development of new marine matrix reference materials for mercury and methyl mercury
> 4. Development and optimization of analytical methods for stable light isotopes analysis (C and N)
>
> More information about the work of the IAEA’s Monaco labs can be found here http://www.iaea.org/monaco/page.php
>
> I’ll be looking for U.S. citizen candidates with preferably with an advanced degree, a minimum of two years of experience, and under the age of 33 years old. As a staff member of the IAEA, whoever is recruited would receive the full benefits and entitlements package of an international recruit – paid travel to Monaco, shipment of personal items, installation grant, rental subsidy, a tax-free salary, 6 weeks of vacation, and paid travel and shipment of personal items back to the US upon completion of the assignment.
>
> I should have a complete description of the role, duties, and requirements in the next day or two, at which point I will be advertising via our email distribution, personal contacts, and social media.
>
> I’d highly appreciate your assistance in distributing these highly rewarding opportunities to anyone you believe it would be appropriate.
>
> Thank you and kind regards,
> Steve
