27. Intern – Biodiversity, Marine Protection and Common Fisheries
Policy, ClientEarth

London, UK

Our biodiversity programme was established in 2008, with our marine
protection and fisheries work being of central importance. This is now
in one of its most exciting phases, with developments in the UK with
regard to the management of fishing activities in European Marine Sites,
and with the political and legal debates surrounding the reform of the
Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) in a critical period. ClientEarth is
heavily engaged in and influencing this process, to ensure it delivers
sustainable fishing in practice in the EU, including through providing
expert legal analysis and advice on effective amendments to the
proposals to key strategic partners (in the European Parliament, Member
States, industry, other NGOs).

This is a great opportunity to support ClientEarth’s biodiversity and
marine programme and to contribute to some of our major projects, which
will have a crucial impact on the sustainability of fish stocks and the
wider marine environment throughout the EU and internationally.
