Primary Responsibilities:
The main duties of the Senior Associate include, but are not limited to:
·Ensuring that the quality of deliverable is of the consistently high
standard necessary to obtain and maintain Blue Earth’s recognition as a
firm of choice
·Lead and support multiple projects simultaneously
·Responsibly manage project teams and deliverables as required for
successful completion of each project
·Research and writing for client deliverables
·Present project findings to various stakeholder groups, both informally
and formally
·Cultivating new business and project opportunities and expanding the
firm’s existing client base
·Monitor project hours and budgets
·Development and implementation of winning proposal strategies
·Overseeing and developing junior staff
Qualifications:
_Skills and Attributes_
·Expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation, Strategy, Designing and
Implementing Innovative, Natural Resource Solutions (e.g. policy,
market-based etc.), Facilitation, and the Integration of Science into
Management Policy
·Exceptional project and staff management and organizational capabilities

_Knowledge and Experience_
·Minimum of 3-5 years of consulting in one or more of Blue Earth
Consultants’ primary service areas—Strategic and Business Planning,
Monitoring and Evaluation, Funding and Financing, Science Integration,
and Next/Best Practices
·Experience managing and delivering on multiple projects at one time
·Interdisciplinary training in marine science, ocean and coastal
resource management, communications, and/or policy; PhD with 5+ years
relevant experience strongly preferred. Minimum of a master’s degree or
MBA in a relevant field and 6-10 years relevant experience
·Solid understanding of marine natural resource issues, landscape/major
players, and solutions
·Familiarity with social science concepts and the application of social
science methodology to achieve ecosystem management and/or resource
conservation objectives
·Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
·Ability and practice in synthesizing and translating data and
information to provide scientific frameworks for practicable solutions
to sensitive issues
·Experience developing relationships with potential clients or funders
·Experience managing programs, contractors, and facilitating groups
·Experience with obtaining funding
·Excellent skills working with Microsoft Office applications (Excel,
PowerPoint, Word)
·Spanish language skills is a strong plus
Location:
The position will be based in the offices of Blue Earth Consultants,
LLC, in Oakland, California. Some travel within California, possibly
elsewhere in the U.S. and abroad will be required.

The Senior Manager, Policy works with the VP for Public Affairs to
manage public policy activities, including relationships with Congress,
the Executive Branch, federal agencies and other non-governmental
organizations. This position is responsible for implementing legislative
and outreach strategies, facilitating development of consensus positions
on oceanographic issues within the academic and broader ocean community
and maintaining relationships with key congressional and federal agency
staff regarding ocean research and education issues. This position
prepares and edits congressional testimony, written correspondence and
policy statements. The position also plans and manages Ocean Leadership
membership participation with and outreach to Congress, the

Senior Associate, U.S. Oceans, Northeast, Pew Charitable Trusts
Washington, DC
Conserving abundant populations of forage fish species is necessary to
ensure the long-term health and productivity of marine ecosystems.
Accordingly, the campaign will promote a precautionary, ecosystem-based
approach to the management of northeastern U.S. forage species. The
Senior Associate will conduct technical and policy research and analysis
to support the Northeast forage fish conservation work of Pew and help
to communicate the results to the general public, fishery stakeholders
and policymakers by drafting testimony, correspondence, policy
statements, white papers, and reports. The Senior Associate will engage
with policy-makers and other stakeholders and represent Pew at the
Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council, Atlantic States Marine
Fisheries Commission, associated advisory panels and scientific
committees, and with state and federal agencies. This person will report
to the Manager for Northeast Forage Fish Conservation and work from
Pew’s D.C. office. It is expected that this position is for a term
period through September 30, 2013, with the possibility of an extension
pending the success of the program, funding sources and board decisions
on continued support.

scale. CI’s engagement will center on the thematic Seascapes Working
Group (SWG) focusing on two areas:

* Supporting seascape capacity-building and learning
To add capacity in support of this engagement CI is looking to hiring a
part-time CTI Coordinator. This position will work with the Senior
Director of Coral Reefs, Fisheries & Food Security, Coral Triangle
Initiative Program Manager, Global Marine Division (GMD) Technical
Advisor, and GMD Coordinator all based in Honolulu, Hawaii. The CTI
Coordinator will be supervised by and take their programmatic direction
from CTI Manager The coordinator will work with the other CTI and GMD
staff in a teaming approach in which they will not supervise other staff
but instead work collaboratively to assist them to complete needed tasks
