NOAA Fisheries, Office of Habitat Conservation, Restoration Center, has opened the online application process for a permanent, full-time Federal position that will either be hired as a marine habitat resource specialist (NMFS-HC-2011-0027 http://jobview.usajobs.gov/GetJob.aspx?JobID=97615331&JobTitle=Marine+Habitat+Resource+Specialist%2c+ZP-401-3%2f4%2c+%28DE%2fCR%29&q=NMFS-HC-2011-0027&where=&brd=3876&vw=b&FedEmp=N&FedPub=Y&AVSDM=2011-03-09+09%3a14%3a00 for non-Federal applicants; NMFS-HC-2011-0025 http://jobview.usajobs.gov/GetJob.aspx?JobID=97615437&JobTitle=Marine+Habitat+Resource+Specialist%2c+ZP-401-3%2f4%2c+%28MAP%29&q=noaa&where=baton+rouge&brd=3876&vw=b&FedEmp=Y&FedPub=Y&pg=1&rad=20&rad_units=miles&re=0&AVSDM=2011-03-09+09%3a17%3a00 for Federal applicants) or as an environmental engineer (NMFS-HC-2011-0029 http://jobview.usajobs.gov/GetJob.aspx?JobID=97627026&JobTitle=Environmental+Engineer%2c+ZP-0819-3%2f4%2c+%28DE%2fCR%29&q=NMFS-HC-2011-0029&where=&brd=3876&vw=b&FedEmp=N&FedPub=Y&AVSDM=2011-03-09+14%3a28%3a00 for non-Federal applicants; NMFS-HC-2011-0026 http://jobview.usajobs.gov/GetJob.aspx?JobID=97627115&JobTitle=Environmental+Engineer%2c+ZP-0819-3%2f4%2c+%28MAP%29&q=noaa&where=baton+rouge&brd=3876&vw=b&FedEmp=Y&FedPub=Y&pg=1&rad=20&rad_units=miles&re=0&AVSDM=2011-03-09+14%3a31%3a00 for Federal applicants) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

This position will be hired through the CAPS system, which is a performance-based, rather than GS system. There will be two vacancies to account for the difference in experience and background of applicants; however, only one position is envisioned to be filled. Work duties will primarily support the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) and the Damage Assessment, Remediation and Restoration Program (DARRP), largely focusing on marine and coastal restoration project management and development. Given new Federal government hiring reforms, the positions will only be open from Wednesday March 9, 2011 until *Tuesday March 22, 2011*. In order to apply, you must create an account and build a resume on http://www.usajobs.gov/; so, consider working that into the timeline.

It is critical that the resume be targeted to the duties described, specialized experience required, and questions asked. Please distribute to anyone you know who may be qualified or interested.
