Ocean Scientist
ASA  is seeking marine scientist/engineer with strong computer skills to
support research, data management, and software development for a variety
of projects related to coastal modeling and ocean observing in their South
Kingstown, Rhode Island office.

Ideal candidates will have an undergraduate or graduate degree program
related to ocean engineering, oceanography or related environmental
sciences and engineering studies. Candidates must have a strong background
in managing environmental data and programming with tools such as Matlab,
Java, or Python. Experience with coastal modeling and GIS is a plus.

The successful applicant must have strong writing and verbal communication
skills and a demonstrated ability to work on highly interactive project
teams.

Mid-Level Software Engineer
ASA is currently looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer with at least 4
years of experience to work primarily on our Environmental Data Server
team. Eligible candidates will be responsible for maintenance of an
existing C# service code base and for creation of new tools and services
as required. The candidate will be working primarily with C#, with some
work in Java.
Qualifications:

* 4+ years intensive experience working with C#
* 4+ years experience in software design, development, integration and
testing
* Experience with SQL, HTML, XML, SOA in general
* Strong experience in designing and developing object oriented technical
solutions
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Self-motivated, able to work independently and within groups
* Must be able to learn new skills quickly, independently
* Bachelor¹s degree required
* Experience programming SilverLight a plus
* Experience programming Java a plus
* Must be a U.S. citizen
* Must be eligible for a Department of Defense Security Clearance
