Good Morning,

I was looking through your website and did not see a place for employers 
to post job openings. I thought I would send you a quick e-mail instead.

EBS is currently look to hire a recent graduate with following 
credentials below for work at the Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science 
Center. If you would please kindly post this to your academic job board 
and forward this along to anyone who may be interested it would be 
greatly appreciated.

Work.

Support the USGS Coastal and Marine Program in the analysis and 
interpretation of marine geologic and oceanographic data from 
instruments and sediment samples. Projects will include examination of 
the sedimentary and oceanographic processes determining the fate of 
contaminated sediment off Palos Verdes, California, collection and 
analysis of sediment cores from the Gulf of Maine for sediment 
erodibility, collection and analysis of oceanographic and sediment data 
as part of the OASIS project at the Martha's Vineyard Coastal 
Observatory, and other regional projects, as needed. Analyze 
erosion-chamber data, historical sediment data, digital data from USGS 
oceanographic instruments and other sources.

2.0 WORK REQUIREMENTS

2.1 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS.

Must have knowledge of marine sediment dynamics in coastal and estuarine 
environments including formal education (at least a Masters degree in 
marine science, physical oceanography, or geological oceanography) and 
some related work experience. Required core competency includes: 1) 
field experiences in estuarine or shelf sediment dynamics including 
experience with current measurements, hydrography, and sediment sample 
collection; 2) experience with preparation, deployment, and recovery of 
oceanographic instrumentation and instrument systems; (3) analyses of 
data from oceanographic instrumentation (such ass acoustic Doppler 
current profilers, acoustic Doppler velocimeters, CTDs, and erosion 
chambers); 4) lab experience in sediment analyses (e.g., grain size, 
organic content, clay mineralogy, erodibility); and 5) programming and 
data analysis using Matlab.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills are required. Expected 
to assist in preparation of reports, web pages, presentations, and 
scientific manuscripts for internal and external publication in 
cooperation with WHCMSC staff.
