ANNOUNCEMENT OF GRANTS TO PARTICIPATE IN:
Microenvironments Modulating Biological Interactions in the Ocean
Aspen Centre for Physics, Aspen, CO, USA, 17-21 January 2011
Over the past two decades, there has been a growing realization that small-scale interactions play a crucial role in the ecology of aquatic organisms. Unravelling these requires an interdisciplinary effort that considers the intimate coupling of physics, chemistry, and biology. This symposium will tackle key microscale themes by bringing together biologists, chemists, ecologists, physicists, engineers, and mathematicians for a highly interactive workshop. See http://web.mit.edu/aspenoceansymp/home.html
There are a few grants available to cover expenses for scientists from "developing countries", primarily (but not only) South-East Asian countries, e.g. Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and India.
Individuals from those countries that could have an interest in participating are welcome to contact Dr. Roman Stocker at romans at MIT.EDU
Best regards,
