Happy New year to you !

We have an EU project (BIOTOX) which has just been confirmed for funding and we are still looking to fill a postdoc position for 3 years. The Marine Institute part of the project is about the chemical analysis of lipophilic marine toxins using LC-MS as an alternative to bioassays and the development and validation of reference methods for marine biotoxins, including isolation of toxins, preparation of reference materials and passive sampling.  In addition to a team of 9 core staff and the STO, there will also be five more postgraduate students and one technical staff involved in the project at the Marine Institute.  EU wide, there is another 11 partners who are also looking at the development and validation of LC-MS methods, functional and biochemical assays, shellfish toxin management and depuration techniques.

If you have or know of any PhD students who just finished their PhD or are about to finish and who would be interested in working with us at the Marine Institute in Ireland, please encourage them to send me their CV and timeline.  Deadline for application is February 25th.

We are also still looking for a graduate student to complete an MPhil/PhD in this project with a relatively lucrative grant (3 y funding).
