Postdoctoral Position in HABs and Climate Variability

A postdoctoral position is available through the National Research
Council to work on Harmful Algal Blooms off the Oregon coast, in
collaboration with Bill Peterson and Vera Trainer, NOAA-Fisheries,
Northwest Fisheries Science Center. The position is located in Newport
Oregon. We seek someone to enumerate phytoplankton (including HAB
species) from plankton samples collected biweekly off Newport since
1996, and in Lugol’s samples collected since 2001. The successful
candidate will also participate in regular cruises and take water
samples for later analysis of HAB species as well as dissolved domoic
acid. If interested, please visit the NRC website below:

There, you will find an abstract of our proposal along with all
information needed to complete an application. The application for the
position is made through the National Research Council, not to Peterson
or Trainer directly. For additional details on the project, including
background, rationale and details of our work, please contact
