IOC Advanced Training Workshop on Harmful Microalgae, University of
Copenhagen, Denmark, April-July 2004

Announced in IOC Circular Letter No. 2086, 28 October 2003

This year, the HAB identification and taxonomy training course is aimed at
relatively experienced participants who, for example, have either previously
attended an introductory IOC training course on taxonomy of harmful algae,
or participants who obtained similar experience through alternative
activities. The purpose is to improve the skills of the participants in
taxonomy for research and teaching purposes and for practical monitoring of
harmful algal blooms.

The course has two components: a mandatory preparatory course taught over
the Internet (e‑learning) from April to June inclusive followed by a
practical laboratory course to be held at University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
